Calm in the Chaos

The world feels heavy right now. It’s easy to feel anxious, depressed, angry, confused. As Reiki practitioners, we may feel this heavy energy deep within our being, and it can be a challenge. How do we project light when we are surrounded by so much darkness?
Here is the thing, though. The world has always been a place of light and dark. Sometimes, chaos seems to rule, and it is at these times, we have the biggest shifts in humanity. But how do we deal with our daily life in times of such struggles?
These are the times when it is important to stay centered and balanced. Don’t let yourself be caught up in the storms, instead, become a place of shelter. Remember to ground and shield yourself. Remember to do your meditations and self-Reiki. More importantly, remember to send Reiki out into the world.
We can think of ourselves as individual drops in one huge ocean of humanity, and we all contain this ocean within ourselves. Everything that happens in the ocean eventually reaches us like ripples across a pond. We may not be able to control the waves, but we can learn to stay steady as we ride them. Once we harness the ability to ride the waves, we can help others ride them out as well.
Take a break from the news cycle. While it’s important to be informed, we don’t have to immerse ourselves in the 24/7 news cycle. Take a break from social media. While it’s nice to stay in touch with friends and family or check out our favorite group pages- taking part in the real world can be more stabilizing. Walking in nature, laughing with a friend, treating ourselves to ice cream.
One of the greatest things we can do to calm the chaos is to be a listener for those who are stressed and troubled. By holding space for them, we can help them release their anxiety and find their own calm in the chaos.
